Maria Ester Ferreira da Silva Viegas has a licentiate degree in Geography by Universidade Federal de Alagoas (1985), a master degree in Geography by Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2004) and a doctorate degree in Geography also by Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2010) on the following topic: Ordaining and Planning of Territory. She is currently a Professor adjunto in Universidade Federal de Alagoas – CAMPUS ARAPIRACA. She has experience in Geography, with emphasis in Human Geography, acting mainly in the following topics: Historical Geography, Northeast Region of Brazil, Indigenous and Quilombola people, evaluation, land, territory, lands demarcation, urbanization. She is also the LETUR (Laboratório de Estudos do Território – Laboratory of Territory Studies) . Post-doc intern in Universidade de Aveiro in the department of Social Sciences, Politics and Territory.
