Patrícia Reis has a PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro, an MSc in Sustainable Tourism Management from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, a degree in Tourism from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and a degree in International Relations from the Lusíada Unversity of Lisbon. She has a Title of Specialist in area 812 - Tourism and Leisure from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. She is an Adjunct Professor at ISLA Santarém, at the Department of Tourism and also at Instituto Politécnico de Leiria - ESTM. She lectures under graduated courses in Tourism, Events Management, Tourism Entertainment, Tourist Products, Sociology of Tourism and Touristic Itineraires. She is an associate member of the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy´' (GOVCOPP - UA) and of the "Unit of Investigation & Development - Management, Marketing and Turismo' (UI&D - ISLA Santarém), and a collaborator member on the 'Surfing Research Unit' (NIS - IPL). Her research interests are in tourism destinations, tourist destination image, surf tourism, surf culture and cultural tourism.
