Victor Figueira is an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja (IPBeja) in the area of Tourism, Environment and Sustainable Development. PhD in Tourism by the University of Évora and is now currently linked to several projects, national and international concerning social, cultural and other related to social sustainability of rural communities, tourism and regional development and social responsibility in tourism. He is a member of IPBeja team who cooperates with the Tourism Observatory of Alentejo and also the Scientific Coordinator of the project for certification of the Alentejo and Ribatejo Regional Tourism destination.
Presently, he is coordinator of the Tourism Lab at IPBeja’s Technology and Management School.
He is also member of the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy research unit (GOVCOPP), where he integrates the Tourism and Development group and also in Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation (CiTUR).
