Manuel António Brites Salgado as a PhD in Tourism and a degree in Management and Planning in Tourism from the University of Aveiro. He is Professor Adjunto in the School of Tourism and Hospitality, Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, since 2003. He is Director of the Degree in Tourism and Leisure since 2011 and of the Master in Management and Sustainability in Tourism since 2009, in which lectures several curricular units. Integrated Member of the Research Unit – Tourism Research Group (GITUR), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, since 2013. Collaborator Member of the Research Unit - Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy (GOVCOPP), University of Aveiro, in the Research Group Tourism and Development, since 2009. Member of the Polytechnic and University CAE´s of A3ES for the evaluation and accreditation process of Tourism HE courses since 2011. Collaborates with several HEIs in the area of Tourism, including Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (ESEC), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (ESTM) and Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESEIG). Has several articles in the area of education and training in tourism and planning and tourism development. Has communications presented in the Tourism area in various types of technical and scientific events.
