Pedro Fonseca has a Bachelor degree in Public and Private Administration from the University of Coimbra and a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Aveiro.

The investigator also has experience as an innovation manager and a consultant in the University of Coimbra and in the ARS (in English, Regional Health Administration). Has also been a volunteer in the Students' Association while in Coimbra and for the Food Bank of Portugal.

Pedro Fonseca was involved between 2018 and 2019 in an entrepreneurship association known as Académica Start UC, where awareness was raised for entrepreneurship and funding on public administration entities.
