Élia Vieira is a PhD candidate in the Doctoral Programme in Tourism at the University of Aveiro, with a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and Planning from the University of Aveiro and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Business Studies from the University of Madeira. Professionally, she was a project manager at ARDITI. Within the same institution, she was also responsible for creating and leading the Communication Office, where she developed and implemented strategic communication initiatives with a strong focus on science communication and public engagement in research and innovation. Previously, she worked as a Project Manager under a Science and Technology Management grant for the FORWARD (Fostering Research Excellence in EU Outermost Regions) project at the University of Madeira. Her main research areas of interest include Tourism development, Tourism governance, Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3), territorial innovation, sustainability and public policies.
