Mafalda M. Nascimento is the Secretary General of OPCTJ – Association of Poor Knights Templar of Jerusalem, a non-profit NGO, which works on tourism and at a social/humanitarian level. Graduated in Biology, she holds a Master’s degree in Human Biology and Environment. She was involved with scientific research in neurosciences and oncogenesis, at faculties of medicine and research institutes in Portugal and in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Following her hobby, she embraced event management, travel, and tourism in general. Mafalda is also graduate in Tourism and holds postgraduate studies in Tour Guiding and in Events Management. Currently, she is a PhD student in Tourism at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. Mafalda has been publishing articles and over the last almost 20 years has maintained strong connections to national and international territories with Templar history and to local associations, within the scope of domestic and external tourism. Additionally, she has been involved, over the last decades, in social action projects.
