Final Event of the R3EA Project - Renewable Energies: Economic and Externalities Assessment

On 15 December, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., the final event of the R3EA project will take place. The project assesses the impact of new investments in solar and wind power generation in the Central Region, estimating reductions in GHG emissions and other pollutants through a cost-based planning model aligned with the PNEC targets. The Central Region, where 70% of the electricity consumed is renewable (compared to 59.1% nationally), was chosen for its energy weight and strategic potential. In a second phase, the project analyses the main local externalities — such as effects on electricity prices, job creation, income generation and tax revenues — also considering possible negative impacts, such as visual pollution.
