Carla Fernandes is Professor of Management and Finance in the University of Aveiro – ISCA since 1998. She has taught different courses (graduation, master's and doctoral degrees) in Management, Finance, Economics and Accounting. She is coordinator of the degree in Finance and supervisor of theses.

She received hers graduation in Economics, Master in Management, with specialization in Finance and Ph.D. in Management – Finance from University of Coimbra.

She is an associate member of the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies (GOVCOPP). Hers main research interests are in behavioural finance, financial markets, international finance and corporate finance.

She is co-author of several books, research papers published in international journals and presented in international conferences. She was awarded with the Euronext Awards for the best scientific research on Portuguese capital markets. She is a frequent speaker on behavioural finance at academic workshops and seminars in different universities. She is a member of several scientific committees at congresses in the field of finance and a reviewer of papers in various international journals.
