Nuno Calheiros-Lobo speaks six languages and is a member of the European International Business Academy (EIBA), and the Portuguese Order of Economists (OE). He owns NCLi, and is currently a PhD Candidate in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management of the University of Aveiro, where he was invited to join the SDS/GOVCOPP research unit. Nuno has a 5 year licentiate degree in International Management and over 20 years of experience in B2B. He lives in Porto, but has a strong connection to Aveiro, where his lovely daughter was born. Before becoming a consultant/trainer to several business associations, he played corporate roles in two of the largest private groups in Portugal (Sonae and Salvador Caetano). He then was Marketing & Sales Director at a Spanish subsidiary, Data-3 Portugal, and CEO at Neovisão, SA, a Portuguese startup. Thanks to ACL, the national leader in construction materials, he flew over 70,000 miles, negotiating in foreign markets, even reaching the exclusive Star Alliance Gold Membership Status, offered only to the frequent flyers (silver), who travel the most. He advises companies in vital areas of internationalization, such as Strategic Management, Innovation, Marketing & Sales and ICTs, and also has a successful track record in state-owned projects (IAPMEI, AEP, CCP & CTP). His primary research interests focus on foreign market entry decisions and export performance/intensity, and how innovations, as AI and other ICTs, may optimize them.
