Teresa Fidélis is Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Department of Environment and Planning of the University of Aveiro, and integrated researcher in the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies (GOVCOPP). Holds a PhD in Applied Environmental Sciences, a Master of Philosophy in Town and Country Planning and a BSc (5yr) Urban and Regional Planning. Teaches courses at Master and PhD levels on Environmental Planning, Environmental Impact and Strategic Assessment and Environmental Legislation. Has robust experience in scientific publications in her field and in supervising PhD thesis and MSc dissertations. Has integrated several international research projects on environmental and land-use planning and governance. Has coordinated or integrated teams of regional land-use plans, river basin management plans, local environmental plans, local agendas 21, strategic environmental assessments and ex-ante evaluations of plans, among others. Also has relevant experience in effective environmental governance as President of the River Basin Authority of the Center, IP and of the Board of the Polis Litoral Ria de Aveiro, SA. (Portugal), and as Member of the Board and as Regional Director of the National Institute of Nature Conservation and Forests, IP..
