Ticiana Ponte is currently enrolled in the Doctorate in Public Policies at the University of Aveiro in Portugal. She is conducting research at the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies Research Unit (GOVCOPP) under the scope of the R&D Project ENVISION - Accelerating Environmental Assessment towards Sustainable Cities and Regions, PTDC/GES-URB/0804/2020, with the financial support of Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia/MCTES. Her research focus on understanding and exploring how to drive urban systemic change towards sustainability and the role of actors in local decision-making processes. She has a Master's in Urbanism and a Bachelor’s in Architecture and Urbanism from the University Federal of Ceará, Brazil. Previously, she worked at the Municipal Secretariat of Urbanism and Environment of Fortaleza, Brazil, as Executive Sub-coordinator of a multidisciplinary team. She participated in research projects and planning for urban development and public policies in collaboration with international organizations for sustainable development such as UN-Habitat, Bloomberg Philanthropies and ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability. Ticiana also contributed to a project for the multilevel integrated management of the city's waterfront, which was the subject of the article "Integrated Waterfront Management Project in Fortaleza: Orla Project 2018”, presented and published in 2019 at the 7th International Conference on Sustainable Development by Earth Institute at Columbia University in New York. She has authored published articles, such as the paper "Planning for urban sustainability: a complex adaptive system analyses of the Lisbon Green Infrastructure" by Springer and presented scientific work at various international conferences.
