Jornal de Notícias and TSF published EUVoto , a new voting aid application for the European elections in Portugal. Developed by a team of researchers from the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies Research Unit (GOVCOPP) at the University of Aveiro, in collaboration with ProDemos - House for Democracy and the Rule of Law, the tool aims to help voters identify the candidates that best align with their opinions

EUVoto is the Portuguese version of VoteMatch Europe , whose main objective is to inform citizens about the positions of political parties ahead of the European Parliament elections. To this end, the various parties and electoral coalitions were invited to express their agreement, disagreement or neutrality on 30 important issues for the next mandate of the European Parliament, accompanying their answers with a brief explanation.

VoteMatch Europe enlightens citizens about the differences between the competing parties in the European Union, based on their positions on different issues, encouraging voters to carry out their own research for an informed vote. In total, 15 of the 17 Portuguese candidates for the European Parliament took part in the project.
