What is OTSMM about?
Montanhas Mágicas Sustainable Tourism Observatory seeks to promote the monitoring of tourist activity in the Montanhas Mágicas® and to provide those responsible for the sector with the information and knowledge they need for the sustainable and competitive management of the destination.
Objectives
- Measure and monitoring tourist activity in the Montanhas Mágicas destination
- Monitor the evolution, changes and trends of tourism activity in the destination
- Promote the sustainable and resilient growth of the tourism sector in the destination
- Provide the public and private sectors with an instrument capable of guaranteeing sustainability and boosting the competitiveness of tourism
- Understand the phenomena, risks and potential of tourism, favouring prevention
- Respond to the information needs of local players in the sector
- Provide relevant, reliable and coherent data from the perspective of decision-makers
- Raise awareness of how to use the information produced in the decision-making process
- Contribute studies and data to other observatories and tourism regulators
